How in the world do I have so many emails in my inbox, and why are they all junk?
Rewrote chapter 12 today of book 2. Trying to get those breadcrumbs right, so if anyone reads my books, they have Aha moments. I always like those when I'm reading.
I never imagined a second pen name would be so slow to get started. Aside from having another website, getting my account on Goodreads and still waiting on Bookbub, I'm writing book 2.
Writing isn't the hard part. Went to school for English, so I know the rules and how to break them. The bang bang prose is on purpose, I promise.
It's just how I do it and always have. Novellas? Yep. That's me too. Why? Because my plots are layered and dense, with no fluff.
Props to the major players from back in the day, but The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway was the slowest book I've ever read. Turned me off to fluff, and I just can't. Really can't.
I read a lot, too, but I'm a weird reader. Don't get stuck in one genre, which is why I write everything from dark fantasy to contemporary.
I follow the characters in my mind. They are like family, and for a while I 'stay' with them and tell what they want known before I move on to visit someone else.
It's not the way other authors talk about it, but that's the way it is for me.
And y'all, if you've read I Need a Favor, didn't fight the story, and actually fell into it-loved it, please let me know. Even if it's an email where you type in all caps what you hated, but you loved it.
